From Santa Pola to La Mata

The Costa Blanca South is located in the province of Alicante, between the cities of Alicante (to the north) and Pilar de la Horadada (to the south).
The south of the Costa Blanca represents the jewel of the Mediterranean and receives this name due to its fantastic beaches of fine sand and transparent waters that bathe the most important municipalities on the coast such as Santa Pola, Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa (Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima, La Zenia, Villamartín, Cabo Roig and Campoamor). The climate of the south of the Costa Blanca is, thanks to its salt flats, particularly good and considered one of the best in the world. It is drier than in the north of the Costa Blanca, because it rains less and its landscape is flat and less green, but the palm trees and orange trees are very beautiful.
The Costa Blanca has more than 320 days of sunshine per year and an average temperature of 20 degrees, thus obtaining a temperate climate and mild winters, ideal both for your vacations and for living all year round. Additionally, its salt lakes significantly improve the humidity in this region and create an ideal microclimate.

Gastronomy lovers have a meeting point on the Costa Blanca. Rice, fish and shellfish, as well as local fruits and vegetables are part of Alicante's excellent cuisine.

It is the area with the greatest concentration of golf courses on the Costa Blanca.
Magnificent golf courses and multicultural cities with constantly evolving infrastructure make the south of the province of Alicante a place to live.

The OMS ranks the Spanish public health service as the seventh best in the world, with a large number of very reputable hospitals and health centers, such as the Torrevieja Hospital, which is listed as an example and a reference international level in patient care.

The tourist development of the Costa Blanca South has experienced spectacular growth over the last decade, which has favored the fact that it currently has modern service infrastructures, with hospitals, international schools, large shopping centers and some of the best golf courses in Spain and Europe. In addition, it is very well connected because it has Alicante airport to the north and Murcia airport to the south, just 100 kilometers from each other.
These advantages make the south of the Costa Blanca one of the most demanded destinations by national and international tourists.
Huge apartment and residential buildings abound in this area, as well as a wide range of tourist accommodation. The Costa Blanca South has become one of the areas with the highest number of second homes nationally and has a very wide real estate offer in terms of the number of homes available. The standard qualities of its houses and the wide offer available mean that the average price per m2 is much lower than on the Costa Blanca North, where the construction style is much more exclusive, characterized by a few blocks, but spacious apartments, with luxury services such as SPAs, gyms or wellness areas, or villas with modern architecture on the mountain slopes with large gardens, terraces and private swimming pools that blend with the view on the sea.

SANTA POLA
The Alicante city of Santa Pola, with a deep maritime tradition, is framed in a landscape of great environmental wealth, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
This sector of the Costa Blanca offers visitors excellent beaches with views of the salt flats, mountains and Cape of Santa Pola, a true luxury for nature lovers. An incomparable hotel and leisure infrastructure is made available for the excellent temperatures enjoyed here. This encourages visits to the old part of the city, its promenade and the practice of the most diverse water sports.

Santa Pola's port means the town retains a charming peach flavor. Coves and white sand beaches ideal for diving and windsurfing are some of the treasures that the Alicante coast has to offer. The beaches of Levante, Varadero, Gran Playa or the coves of Santiago Bernabeu are among the most recommendable.
Here you can also take a boat that leads to the neighboring island of Tabarca, where a walled enclosure and a marine reserve of great biological variety await you. The Salinas de Santa Pola Natural Park is the ancient wetland of Elche, in which salt mines were installed. The fauna and flora have adapted to these particular conditions of humidity and high salinity, and we can thus see colonies of pink flamingos.

Santa Pola concentrates a good part of the housing supply on the Costa Blanca, and has Gran Alacant, which is one of the residential areas most sought-after at the moment. The advantages it offers are a coastal town with all services and an intense social life throughout the year, its active port, its salt pans, its beaches, its surrounding natural landscapes and its proximity to the city of Alicante (15 kilometers) and Alicante Airport, just 10 kilometers away.

LA MARINA
La Marina is a fabulous residential area that belongs to San Fulgencio, located between Guardamar and Santa Pola, and 13 kilometers from Elche, city declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, thanks to its palm grove, the Misteri d'Elx and the Pousol Museum.

Its long beach of fine, golden sand is lined with buildings and another part is home to a large pine forest, where there is a luxury campsite with swimming pool, accommodation and restaurant. One of its strong points is its large free parking lot, which connects directly to the beach via wooden walkways. There are also many beach bars where you can enjoy the local gastronomy. The marina has a complete infrastructure of services.

The real estate offer is based on independent villas and semi-detached houses and it is one of the areas with the best quality-price ratio on the entire Costa Blanca.

GUARDAMAR DEL SEGURA
Guardamar del Segura is beach and nature next to the Mediterranean.
Its eleven kilometers of fine golden sand beaches, ideal for practicing water sports, and its wide range of accommodation make it a remarkable tourist center on the Costa Blanca South, along with Orihuela Costa, Torrevieja and Santa Pola. Bathed by the Segura River, it has various archaeological sites. Guardamar also has several natural areas such as a beautiful pine forest. The Lagunas de La Mata Natural Park stands out, with a network of routes on foot or by bike.
In Guardamar, most of the houses offered are houses with a wide range of prices and different characteristics.

LA MATA
It is one of the longest and most spacious beaches in Torrevieja. It is one of the favorite options for tourists looking for a little privacy, since it is far from urban centers. It has a large promenade that runs along the entire beach, where a wide variety of restaurants and beach bars are concentrated to fall in love with the local gastronomy. Behind the beach is the Molino del Agua Park, a vast expanse of sand dunes where it is highly recommended to take a walk while enjoying its pleasant atmosphere.

The real estate offer is practically based on townhouses and large private apartment complexes with green areas and community swimming pools, very close to the sea.
